Volunteer for NERAX

As the festival is over, we are no longer looking for volunteers. However, if you would like to be added to our list of future volunteers, please enter your name and email address in the Volunteer Sign-up form and click on the Submit button at the bottom of the page.

Volunteering at NERAX is a great way to support the festival and enjoy it too!

Volunteers make the festival happen. Volunteers help us throughout the week of NERAX, from setup to breakdown. For every shift you work, you're entitled to attend a session of the festival as our guest. No matter which shift you work, all volunteers are welcome at the Staff Party on Saturday night.

If you wish to volunteer, please fill in the Volunteer Sign-up form and click on the Submit button at the bottom of the page.

During the festival, we ask that you arrive at the Somerville American Legion Hall Post 388 about half an hour before the session starts. For example, that would mean coming in at 5:30 pm for a session starting at 6:00 pm to check in with the staffing manager and to meet with your supervisor for your training. We also ask that you stay about half an hour after the end of the session to help clean up the hall. For a session ending at 10:30, that would mean staying untill 11:00 pm.

The New England Real Ale eXhibition is organized by the Cask-conditioned Ale Support Campaign. CASC is an all-volunteer organization dedicated to boosting awareness of and demand for Real Ale in New England.

March 20-23, 2013.

NERAX 2013 will be our 17th Festival, during which we expect to serve over 110 firkins of Real Ale and Cider, comprised of roughly 60 British beers from England, Scotland, and Wales; and roughly 50 American beers, mostly from New England. All the beers are cask-conditioned, served by gravity or hand-pump.
