New England Real Ale eXhibition

The longest running Real Ale Festival in the United States, proudly serving an outstanding selection of rarely seen, award-winning cask ales.

We serve over 100 firkins of Real Ale and Cider, comprised of over 50 British beers from England, Scotland, and Wales; and over 50 American beers, mostly from New England. All the beers are cask-conditioned, served by gravity or hand-pump.

The easiest way to approach Lord Hobo Brewing from the south is to use Route 93 via the Montvale Ave exit, however this route can become quite clogged with traffic during rush hour.  Those traveling from the Cambridge/Arlington area may have better luck using Mystic Valley Parkway and Washington St, where traffic is much lighter.

Both street parking and lot parking are available, but please don't drink and drive!  Complementary shuttle service to and from one of the MBTA train stations will also be available.  Check back here at a later date for details.

The MBTA also runs a Woburn Express bus (route 354) which leaves from downtown Boston at the State Street train stop on the Blue/Orange lines.  The Central St/Montvale Ave stop is a 10-minute walk from Lord Hobo Brewery.  This bus line stops running early and runs only on weekdays, so it would only be a valid option for arriving at the festival, and only for the Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday sessions.

The closest MBTA commuter rail stop is Winchester Center on the Lowell line, 2.8 miles away.

You may reserve a ride with the Uber app for your mobile device.

You may request a car-share with the Lyft app for your mobile device.

Please remember that NERAX accepts cash only.  The nearest ATM is at TD Bank on Montvale Ave at Central St.

Food options:

As always Redbones sandwiches will be at the festival.

Volunteer for NERAX

We want to thank everyone who has volunteered already. Unfortunately, due to circumstances beyond our control, we are currently looking for a new location to hold the festival. Volunteering is on hold for the moment. When we find a new host, we will open the call for volunteers again. Thank you!

Volunteering at NERAX is a great way to support the festival and enjoy it too!

Volunteers make the festival happen. Volunteers help us throughout the week of NERAX, from setup to breakdown. If you work as a volunteer, you may attend one session of the festival as our guest. No matter which shift you work, all volunteers are invited to the Staff Party on Saturday night.

We will have TWO Tutored Tasting sessions! One on Thursday evening, and one on Friday evening, both at 8:00 p.m. These entertaining and educational Tutored Tasting sessions have been a great success at NERAX North, and we are pleased to add them to the spring festival. Enjoy four half pints of selected beers, and learn about them, and cask-conditioning with your friends!

Tickets will be available in advance and at the door.
